According to the to the USGS/NEIC on-line database there are six earthquakes
that qualify for being M7.5+ in the second half of 2002. Four of them have
average Ms magnitude of 7.5 or greater. The other two are deep events near
Fiji Islands of MW's greater than 7.5.

There are concerns about sizing these earthquakes.
The changes of the parameters of the largest
earthquakes on transition from the NEIC Quick Epicenter Determinations and
PDE-Weekly to the final catalog will be accounted in the Test statistics.
