DYNAMIC EQUATIONS FOR SEISMOGENIC SOLID MEDIUM

Abstract

Dynamic equations for a solid medium under stress are derived for the mean field stress model on the basis of statistical mechanics of cracks. "Earthquakes" are interpreted as fast displacements of boundaries enveloping narrow (similar to cracks) areas of a high crack density phase.
